This class will teach you fun and engaging activities that you can use to help clients discover concepts and gain insight into their behavior. Using these activities can be less threatening than traditional talk therapy. Also, they help to break through resistance and begin to build connection between the client and therapist. Come to class and learn how to keep clients more engaged and focused by using new activities.

How Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and FMLA Applies to Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders

Many practitioners are unaware that Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders fall under the protection of the Americans with Disabilities Act and patients can qualify for protection, support and benefits. The purpose of this class is to help practitioners understand how to work with patients to help them navigate HR issues to improve their availability and compliance with treatment. Krystal Yates is expert in HR and has been consulting with small to medium businesses to help employers and employees navigate through accommodations and protections afforded to individuals with disabilities.

Mary Ann Ghormley has a Master’s degree and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has over ten years of valuable experience in working with teens and adults. She has worked in the areas of chemical dependency, play therapy, and couples therapy. Currently, she is working in experiential teambuilding and leadership training. These are interactive activities that challenge people to discover and gain insight into their behavior.
